Pride Hamilton has been making a valiant effort to build a legacy of fighting for our rights to love, be seen and celebrate who we are. Along this journey we have faced various forms of prejudice and opposition while doing do.  That has not stopped us from working on our long-term goal that continuing to build this organization and our event(s) to ensure that all members of the local 2SLGBTQ+ Community and surrounding areas can celebrate our history and achievements, love, freedom, diversity, and representation in safe, accessible places.

Our annual event has gone from a small gathering to a beautiful vibrant event that continues to grow every year.

Pride Hamilton is a non-profit organization that runs solely on sponsorship and any grants that we are eligible to receive.

​

Finding sponsorship and funding opportunities has always been a challenge for NPOs as there are so many criteria that has to be met, not to mention the countless others that also seek the same opportunities.  The pandemic forced so many local businesses to close or change their operations, which lessens their ability to support local communities and initiatives. With less opportunities to seek , this means we often must choose larger companies or funding resources which may have changed their criteria post-pandemic, resulting in more obstacles and less funding—if we even qualify.

Thus, the increase in number of applicants as many sources have closed or ended which puts us in a position of finding other methods to raise money, such as merchandise, fundraisers and now collecting donations.

Hamilton has a diverse and creative community; we are working to showcase these talented folks and small businesses with a free and accessible festival for the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
