Jake grew up in the Windsor-Essex County region. He moved to Hamilton in 2014 and has been proud to call Hamilton home since.

Jake started to be involved in their community in 2017. Previously, Jake has been involved with Speqtrum and managed their voter access campaign that sought out pledges of 2SLGBTQIA+ support from City Council and School Board Trustee candidates. Jake was also involved in the City of Hamilton’s LGBTQ Advisory Committee and advocated for subtitles on all of the City of Hamilton’s meetings for both participants and the audience.

Jake is a chronically ill and disabled wheelchair user and service dog handler. He is passionate about improving accessibility, not only for themselves, but for the whole community.

In their spare time, Jake enjoys beading and playing instruments. He also enjoys smudging and reconnecting with their culture.
